Privacy policy

Last updated October 21, 2026

This policy covers Accident Tracker by Matlock ("Accident Tracker", "we"), a plugin you use inside ChatGPT. It explains what we collect, why, who receives it, how long we keep it and how you control it.

We do not ask for or accept Social Security numbers, driver's license numbers, payment card details, passwords, street addresses or precise location. Please don't type them in. ChatGPT may send us a coarse location (city or region) and an anonymized identifier with requests; we don't store them. We never receive your ChatGPT conversation history.

What the AI sees

When you use Accident Tracker in ChatGPT, OpenAI processes your messages and the facts our tools return under OpenAI's privacy policy. Health information you save from the tracker card is kept by us and returned only to the card; ChatGPT's AI sees how many such entries exist, not their contents. Anything you type into the chat itself is part of your ChatGPT conversation.

Who receives it

We do not sell or rent your information, use it for advertising, share it with law firms or insurers, or use it to train AI models. Accident Tracker data is kept separate from Matlock's software for law firms.

How long we keep it

Until you delete it. If nobody signs in or changes your record for three years, we delete your account and everything in it automatically. Deleted data is removed from our live database right away and disappears from database backups when those backups expire.

Your choices

Health information (Washington and other states)

Washington's My Health My Data Act and similar laws protect consumer health data. We collect it only with your consent (version 2026-10-21), only to keep your record, share it only with the service providers above, and never sell it.

Not legal advice, not confidential

Accident Tracker is not a law firm. Using it does not create an attorney-client relationship, and what you save is not protected by attorney-client privilege. In a lawsuit, the other side could ask for it, so keep it to facts.

Children

Accident Tracker is not directed to children under 13. You must be 18 or older to create an account.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, kept in its own database separate from Matlock's law-firm data, and accessible only to the people who operate it.

Changes

We'll post changes here and update the date above. If we change how we use health information, we'll ask for consent again.
